At the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse, we use only the finest quality, Scottish Atlantic Salmon from The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) raised responsibly in the West Coast of Scotland and Hebrides.

How is your smoked salmon made?
We use only the finest Scottish Salmon from The Scottish Salmon Company and smoke all our Scottish Salmon at our Harris & Lewis Smokehouse in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Our Artisan Smokers hand cure only fresh Scottish Salmon before gently smoking each salmon ‘side’ in a traditional pebble-lined kiln, using Scotch whisky cask chippings to infuse them with a rich flavour, providing a unique taste of the Hebridean islands.
How do you ensure the quality, traceability and sustainability of your products?
The Scottish Salmon Company is engaged in all stages of the supply chain from freshwater and marine farming to processing, smoking and selling our Scottish Salmon.
We are dedicated to producing the finest quality Scottish Salmon sustainably with full traceability, supply chain integrity and Scottish Provenance guaranteed. This is ensured by our comprehensive suite of accreditations. We are GLOBALG.A.P. accredited and have been awarded a four-star Best Aquaculture Practice (BAP) for our Freshwater, Marine and Processing sites and for sourcing feed from BAP-certified suppliers. We adhere to the independently audited Code of Good Practice for Scottish Finfish Aquaculture, which covers all aspects of farm production. Our processing and smoking facilities are BRC AA accredited for food safety, processing and supply chain management. The Scottish provenance of our salmon is guaranteed through the UK PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) scheme. In addition, all of our smoked products are Kosher certified and our Native Hebridean Smoked Scottish Salmon was awarded a Great Taste Award.

How long do your smoked products keep and can I freeze them?
Our Smoked Scottish Salmon should be stored in a refrigerator at 0 to 4°C. Once opened consume within 3 days. Do not exceed the Use by Date printed on the back of pack. If freezing, do so on day of receipt and use within 1 month.
What delivery methods do you use and how quickly will I receive my order?
We dispatch orders from Monday to Thursday only, we do not dispatch orders on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. All orders to the UK are delivered using the Royal Mail Track 24 service and should be delivered between 1-2 days from dispatch. For larger orders, please contact us on the details at the bottom of the page to discuss how we can help you.
How will I know when my order has been shipped?
You will receive an order confirmation email once your order has been received and an order despatch confirmation email as soon as your order has been shipped.
How much do you charge for delivery?
Delivery of products is currently free as part of an introductory offer until 30 April.
Will I need to sign for my delivery?
No, you will not be required to sign for the delivery unless you request this. If you need to provide any delivery instructions please enter them into the additional information box on the checkout page. As it is a fresh product, if you are not going to be home please leave instructions of a cool, shaded place to leave your delivery.
I selected click and collect, when and where do I collect my order from?
We offer a click-and-collect service from our Harris & Lewis Smokehouse in Stornoway. If you have selected this option, once we receive your order our friendly team will be in touch with you via phone or email to arrange collection.
Can I cancel my order?
This is a fresh product and we aim to dispatch within 24 hours of receiving your order. If there are any changes to your order please let us know as soon as possible by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org referencing your order number. Please note our mailbox is only managed between 8 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday. For further details, please refer to section 4 of our Terms and Conditions.

How do I know my credit card and personal details are secure?
When your order is placed on the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse website, the debit/credit card payment is handled entirely by secure payment provider Stripe. All transactions are encrypted using SSL encryption, indicated by the padlock which appears in your browser so you can feel safe and secure.
Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, Maestro, Diners, JCB, Laser and Solo.
Can I post a cheque?
We can only accept card payments.
Can I place an order over the phone?
We can only accept orders through our website.
